Donor programme partners: The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education – SIU (Norway) the Icelandic Centre for Research – RANNIS (Iceland) and the National Agency for International Education Affairs – AIBA (Liechtenstein). SIU will function as lead Donor Programme Partner.
The EEA Scholarship Programme operates within the framework of EEA Grants that was established in order to reduce economic and social disparities and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein (Donor States) and Beneficiary States, such as Hungary.
Scholarships are one of the several programme areas funded by donor countries giving the possibility to students, teachers and staff to acquire new skills and gain international experience. It offers 4 types of possible activities:
- Professional visits and Preparatory visits (M1): short term staff visits aiming to develop cooperation between institutions and to maintain exsisting partnerships
- Mobility projects in higher education (M2): student mobility up to 12 months, staff and teacher mobility for teaching assignments, seminars, conferences or job shadowing
- Mobility projects in education related institutions (M3): staff and teacher mobility for teaching assignments, seminars, conferences or job shadowing for non-higher educational, educational/vocational institutions
- Inter-institutional cooperation projects between higher education institutions (M4) may include: intensive programme, development of common modules, new teaching tools, cooperation project between enterprises and higher education institutions.
The overall objective of the programme is to enhance the quality of education in beneficiary countries through international partnerships.
